Book Drive for Children's Hospital
When Logan Dougherty, had to visit The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, she took it upon herself to ask what she could do to help the hospital make the children there feel more comfortable and entertained during what could be a very difficult time in their young lives. Logan was told that one of the greatest needs was for children’s books.
Cadence and Mahala Dougherty are students here at Pride MMA. Their mother knew that Pride is very involved in community service, so she approached Coach Jessi and Coach Epps about doing a book drive through our school. Our students, as always, came through in a big way. We finished with over 10 boxes full of books, and Coach Keelie Cargill, Coach Koal Manis, and Coach Jack Manis were kind enough to deliver the books to Children’s Hospital.
Community service opportunities like this allow us to teach our students responsibility by setting an example for them, and allow us to give back out of our gratitude! Thank you to everyone who gave books, and to those who also gave their time to make this a successful book drive. Pride is Family!
